But before I do that many things are happening on the AI/ Tech front.
The NotebookLM update lets you participate in the conversation
Learning will never be the same.
If you recall (I wrote about it in this episode), NotebookLM is the tool that, when you give it information in the form of documents, YouTube links, etc., will create a podcast conversation between two artificial moderators, discussing the topic in great detail. It helps a lot to understand a topic.
This was huge already.
Today, their new update allows you to join the conversation. Have a question midway? Ask. Want the 2 AI hosts to double-click into a topic they mentioned? Ask.
I tried it out; take a look.
In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I am using it frequently now.
Pro tip: Give it multiple sources (different perspectives on a topic, etc.). The value these interactive AI podcasts give you is getting high. Perhaps the more info sources you give it, the better.
Currently, it is not a fluent conversation you can have with them. They stop their thoughts, address your point/ question, and move on.
However, I am sure the Google team will smoothen out these conversations and potentially make it multi-modal with Video calls. (Gemini 2.0 already offers that)

Phi-4 Released! Run the advanced AI on your Laptop
Microsoft released the next generation of Phi, Phi-4. It is cutting-edge with only 14B parameters (model size ~9GB).
It is roughly on the level of the 5x bigger Llama-3.3-70B that Meta released only 1 month ago! That is a massive improvement.
How do you make it run on your laptop?
Just do the following:
Install Ollama. → https://ollama.com
Run in the terminal: ollama run phi4 (that is it 🤷♂️)
Pro tip: You can also choose another fitting model from the model library.
