Happy Friday! It’s Martin.

This week, Anthropic's Computer Use feature stole the spotlight, letting AI control your mouse and keyboard directly—no virtual machine needed. Learn how in this episode. Plus:

Apply Anthropic’s Computer Use on Your Computer

In the last episode, I demoed how to use Anthropic’s new AI to perform tasks using your mouse and keyboard. However, it did it in a virtual environment.

The developer community goes nuts over this feature, and many projects are underway. Today, with a simple package installation you can let AI work on your direct computer. See here:

While you read the newspaper, the AI works on your computer on your behalf.

When setting this up, you might run into issues. Here are some tips:

  • Have the installation pip install open-interpreter in a Venv. You can set it up in the respective folder like this python -m venv myenv, and activate it before working with source myenv/bin/activate.

  • You might need to install these dependencies: pip install pyautogui and pip install uvicorn

Let me know how it went!

Timbaland Partners with AI Music Tool Suno and Launches Remix Contest

It’s fantastic to see how artists are starting to embrace this tech.

I'm like a kid, like I'm 19 years old falling back in love with the purity of creativity

Timbaland

Go to the Suno page to see his new (AI-driven) song. There, you’ll also find a nice little contest.

Runway ML introduces Act-One - a new way to generate expressive characters

Artistic expression is about to be fully democratized.

Anyone can now build high-fidelity video clips - just take a low-quality video of yourself or someone else.

Act-One by RunwayML enables expressive character performances in Gen-3 Alpha using just a driving video and character image; no motion capture or rigging is needed.

The model also delivers cinematic, realistic outputs across angles and focal lengths, enabling emotional performances with unmatched character depth.

The best books to future-proof yourself for the AI era

I recently partnered with shepherd.com and built, as an author on their page, my AI-proof book list.

This image is a graphic that showcases a selection of books under the title **"The best books to future-proof yourself for the AI era"**. It includes a subheading that reads **"Picked by Martin Musiol,"** along with a circular headshot of Martin Musiol, indicating him as the curator. Below the title, there are five book covers displayed in a row, each book being a recommended read for understanding AI. The books featured are: 1. **"Generative Deep Learning" by David Foster** - The cover features an illustration of a parrot, reflecting the book’s focus on teaching machines to generate creative outputs like painting, writing, and composing. 2. **"Deep Learning" by Ian Goodfellow, Yoshua Bengio, and Aaron Courville** - The cover shows a nature scene with blossoming trees and a serene landscape, symbolizing the book's comprehensive approach to deep learning concepts. 3. **"Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning" by Christopher M. Bishop** - The cover has an abstract design resembling rippling water, indicative of the book's focus on algorithms for recognizing patterns and machine learning. 4. **"Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach" by Stuart Russell and Peter Norvig** - The cover displays a chessboard with various figures, connecting the topic of AI to strategic thinking and decision-making. 5. **"Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies" by Nick Bostrom** - The cover depicts an owl, a symbol of wisdom, fitting for a book about the potential future of AI and its implications for humanity. Beneath the book covers is a prompt that reads, **"What did I love about each book?"**, implying that more detailed insights about each book are available further down. The overall theme of the graphic emphasizes AI knowledge through curated readings, aiming to provide resources for individuals to prepare for the AI-driven future.

I think it is worth checking it out. → My Shepherd list.
