It's incredibly fast, highly intelligent, and natively multimodal (all-in-one).

Additionally, rumors confirmed: the "I-am-also-a-good-gpt-2-chatbot" was indeed from OpenAI.

Releasing it one day before Google I/O must also feel satisfying.

GPT-4-Turbo excels in voice/video capabilities, far surpassing others.

It's highly responsive to emotions, exhibits human-like mannerisms, and operates in real-time (instant translation). Language barriers are largely eliminated. That’s HUGE!

Unparalleled video mode

Demos show two GPT-4os interacting, singing, prepping an interview, playing rock-paper-scissors (while sportscasting), tutoring math (while drawing on an iPad), language training, and meeting integration.

It laughs, gasps, giggles, hums, blushes, flirts—AI anthropomorphism in action. You can even interrupt it in a natural manner.

Lastly, my thoughts

• Besides OpenAI's incredible talent and AI IP, I am convinced that OpenAI will remain among the top 4 in the long term due to one other major factor: Sam Altman's ability to make deals. (Next partnership might be with Apple.)

• If OpenAI secures a deal with Apple and implements an on-device GPT-4o to replace Siri, it could be game over for Google, Meta, Anthropic, etc.

The advanced voice/video capabilities, emphasizing human-like mannerisms, emotion, and real-time cadence, may finally make me consider using it as a serious assistant.
