OpenAI’s GPT-4b

GPT-4b is a specialized LLM developed by OpenAI in partnership with Retro Biosciences, a startup focused on anti-aging research. It's a fine-tuned version of OpenAI's GPT-4 series, optimized for biotechnology applications.

What Does It Do?

In simple terms, GPT-4b acts like a "protein engineer." It analyzes biological data, such as protein sequences, to predict how proteins interact and suggest modifications. For example, it can redesign proteins to make it easier to turn ordinary cells into stem cells, which are versatile cells that can develop into various tissues.

It is being done via Yamanaka factors. 

Yamanaka factors (OCT4, SOX2, KLF4, MYC) are proteins that reprogram adult cells into versatile stem cells for regenerative medicine. GPT-4b micro redesigned SOX2 and KLF4 into enhanced versions (RetroSOX, RetroKLF), boosting reprogramming efficiency by over 50x, speeding up the process, and improving DNA damage repair for better longevity therapies.
