🤩 The Generative AI Applications Summit: Your GenAI Strategy + Check out the Speakers!

The new AI advancements bring significant capabilities to businesses.

Soon, new models like LLaMA-3, Stable Diffusion 3, GPT-5, and open-source equivalents will outshine current AI technologies.

We are looking at a dynamic future where forward-looking and informed strategies are essential.

That's why I'm excited to co-chair the Generative AI Applications Summit, which brings together leading AI practitioners and leaders from top AI companies.

Speakers include:

- Julien Simon, Chief Evangelist at Hugging Face

- Hitesh Wadhwa, Google’s Cloud Lead and GenAI Ambassador

- Matthew Housley, CTO at Ternary Data

- Mitesh Mistry, Chief Architect at IBM

We also welcome Microsoft, Harvard Business Review, Aramco, PricewaterhouseCoopers, John Snow Labs, Searce Inc, NICE, and many more participants.

GenerativeAI.net will also be featured. I will discuss GENERATIVE AI, AI AGENTS, AND AGI—HOW NEW ADVANCEMENTS IN AI WILL IMPROVE THE PRODUCTS WE BUILD.

Additionally, I am thrilled to host a full-day workshop prior to the Summit to bring attendees up to speed.

We have also developed something extraordinary: Our Generative AI Accelerator Exercise. It is

… a unique framework that guides participants through leveraging Generative AI to drive business innovation. It is a proven framework tested with over 25 organizations, from small to medium-sized businesses to large corporations. In a two-step process, we identify which problems are most suitable for solving with generative AI models. This is achieved by providing participants with prompting templates to test the feasibility of cases against AI models in real time. We then draw shortlisted use cases on the GenAI Architecture canvas, accompanied by guiding questions, which aid participants in drafting their GenAI solution architecture. This process elucidates how a GenAI architecture can be optimally integrated into organizations, addressing the most pertinent use cases. Participants leave with a comprehensive understanding of how a GenAI solution would function within their organization, including which data to leverage and the essential elements of cloud services needed to build the solution.

When you go home, you will have clear guidelines for implementing YOUR generative AI solutions, including the necessary cloud resources.

It will be a two-day immersion and networking event, including dinner, workshops, and the GenAI accelerator.

I hope to see you there.

😶‍🌫️ Best of Google Cloud Next ’24

Google held its Cloud Next ‘24 event on the 9th of April, and the announcements were impressive, especially regarding AI Agents. Here is a best of.

Generative AI and AI Agents

  • Google announced significant updates to its generative AI offerings, including new models, tools, and integrations across Google Cloud and Workspace. This includes Gemini 1.5 Pro, which can handle up to 1 million context tokens (~10 books, ~1h of Video, etc.)

  • Vertex AI Workbench and Vertex AI Agent Builder simplify AI model training and chatbot creation without coding.

  • Gemini Code Assist aids developers in building apps with AI assistance within their favorite IDEs, now integrating Gemini 1.5 Pro.

Google aims to transform entire industries with AI agents.

Google Workspace Innovations

  • Google introduced Vids, a new AI-powered video creation app for Workspace that generates storyboards, incorporates stock footage/music, and supports voice-overs and collaboration.

  • New AI-powered features in Gmail include voice prompts for composing emails on mobile and Instant Polish to refine drafts.

  • Automatic translation for Meet captions has expanded to 69 languages.

Infrastructure and Performance

  • Google unveiled its custom Arm-based Axion processor, offering 30% better performance than competitors.

  • TPU v5p pods are now generally available, offering 4X the compute power of the previous generation. Hyperdisk ML block storage accelerates model loading.

Google rented the entire Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The event featured over 500 breakout sessions, hands-on demos, and an extensive expo with nearly 400 sponsors.

🎵 AI Music Generation is Reaching an Impressive Quality - See Udio

Udio is a music creation and sharing app that allows you to generate fantastic music in your favorite styles with intuitive and powerful text prompting.

Bring your words to life with expressive vocals in any style, from soaring gospel and gravelly blues to dreamy pop and silky rap.

Create vocals in various languages, including styles like J-pop, Russian dream pop, reggaeton, and Bollywood music.

The v1 model is capable but not perfect. The team is iterating quickly, working on longer samples, improved sound quality, support for more languages, and next-generation controllability.

Udio was founded by leading AI researchers and engineers formerly at Google DeepMind and is backed by a16z. They are based in London and New York.

I am following Udio's progress and other developments in the space. For example, Spotify has launched its AI music tool to fill playlists. You can see more in the quick highlights below.

MindBridge is a unified model designed to decode brain signals across different subjects by adapting individual fMRI data into a standardized representation. This approach allows for practical interpretation and analysis of brain activity from a diverse set of individuals using a single, consistent framework.

That was it, folks. I hope you enjoyed it.

This weekend my friends were getting married in Tuscany, Italy. It was so incredible. 🤎

It was also lots of planning for the couple to pull this off. (For which I have utmost appreciation.) In the future, AI Agents will support or even fully take over all the planning, staying within given constraints like budget.

To an agentic future,

Martin
